SOLUTION FOCUSED THERAPY

Solution Focused Therapy

Online therapy is an increasingly popular form of psychological support that allows contact with a therapist via the internet. This article aims to explore different schools of psychotherapy, with a special emphasis on solution-focused therapy.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an approach that focuses on understanding and changing negative thought and behavior patterns. In the context of online therapy, CBT is effective because it can be applied through various interactive materials and exercises available online. The patient works on identifying and
changing destructive beliefs, which can bring relief in many disorders, such as depression and anxiety.solution focused therapy

Conversely, psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on understanding the impact of earlier life experiences on current problems and behaviors. In online therapy, it canbe utilized through regular video sessions, where thetherapist and client together explore unconscious motivations and conflicts. This form of therapy requires deep
reflection and is often long-term. Solution-focused therapy, which I would like to highlight particularly, contrasts with the above approaches. It is a short-term form of therapy, focusing not on problems
and their causes but on finding solutions and utilizing the client resources. In online therapy, this method isexceptionally effective as it uses the flexibility of digital communication to quickly identify goals and action strategies. The therapist helps the client focus on what works, rather than past problems or difficulties. In solution-focused therapy, great emphasis is placed on the language and the way the client describes their experiences. The therapist encourages positive thinking, recognizing the client as an expert in their life, and focusing on their strengths and possibilities. Sessions may include asking questions focused on the future and solutions that the client can apply to achieve the desired changes. With online therapy, clients have the opportunity to access sessions in a convenient place and time, which can increase comfort and openness in the therapeutic process. Additionally, online therapy often offers a wider range of communication tools, such as chat, email, or interactive platforms, which can make it easier for clients to express thoughts and feelings.

In summary, online therapy offers a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the individual needs of the client. Cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and solution-focused therapies are just some of the methods available. In particular, solution-focused therapy seems to be exceptionally effective in the context of online therapy, providing quick and goal-focused support for those seeking positive changes in their life.
